About Us

Welcome

Formed in 1982 by a collective of actors, Mountain Community Theater (MCT) is Santa Cruz County’s longest continuously running community theater company, which puts on live theatrical performances featuring and tailored to people living in the San Lorenzo Valley, Santa Cruz County, and beyond. MCT is a member-run non-profit organization that relies on support from its performances, season subscribers, and royalties from its company-created script, Miracle on 34th Street, the Play.

Vision Statement
Mountain Community Theater is dedicated to maintaining a spirit of creativity, collaboration, and fun in all that we do. We produce plays and events that are recognized for their artistic excellence and taken as a whole, our productions are financially self-sustaining. Our seasoned artisans provide an environment that embraces and encourages the artistic growth of aspiring future thespians.

Mountain Community Theater seeks to create and maintain a safe space for people of all cultures, communities, and backgrounds to participate in and enjoy theatrical productions.  We consider ourselves a “family of artists” behind the scenes, where we strive to make sure that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued for who they are.
